Nine medals won in Amsterdam this weekend, including an all-St Gabriel's A Men's Doubles final between Mark M & Mark S and Ian & Kim, with the Marks winning 19-21, 21-19, 21-19 to take the gold. Neil also played and picked up a bronze in the B+ Mixed Doubles. All the results can be found in the Tournament & Results section.
17 MARCH 2008
A fantastic 7-2 win over Finsbury sealed the Division 2B in the Middlesex County league and secures promotion to Division 1.
24 FEBRUARY 2008
A good 8-1 win in the County League today against Riverside - 6 wins out of six now. A home win against Finsbury in the final match of the season guarantees promotion to division 1, but next up is the away match to Tower Hamlets 2 on Saturday evening.
23 FEBRUARY 2008
Well done to Kim & Mark M who were runners-up in the Middlesex Orbital held at the Dome in Hounslow today. They narrowly lost 16-21, 21-14, 21-23 in the final, having beaten some very good pairs to get through.
21 FEBRUARY 2008
We now have new lines! Thanks to all those who helped re-paint them last night.
A very busy week in the Hammersmith & District Men's 6 league saw us play 3 matches in 7 days and win them all, including an excellent 8-1 win over second placed Hale. We are now firmly at the top of Division 1 and almost uncatchable. Well done to everyone who played.
20 JANUARY 2008
A busy day with two matches in one day. The Men's 4 had a comprehensive 6-0 win over the previously unbeaten Fusion, and we beat Hadley 8-1 in the Middlesex County League to make it 5 out of 5 and be one step nearer to promotion.
19 DECEMBER 2007
Christmas meal tonight! Remember, everyone is invited to play badminton from 6pm (and it's free) and then we're going to the Indian for a meal.
11 DECEMBER 2007
Very good 9-0 away win to Hadley tonight in the Middlesex County League. Team was Kim & Mark M, Chris and Mark S and Ian & Neil.
02 DECEMBER 2007
Well done to the team this evening who battled to a 5-4 home win against Tower Hamlets 2. We were a little unlucky to only get 5, but we have now won 3 out of 3. Coupled with our 6 wins out of 6 in the Hammersmith & District Men's 6 League, we've had a great start to the season. One more match before Christmas, away to Hadley in the Middlesex County League.
25 NOVEMBER 2007
Christmas night out is 14 December 2007 - the plan is to head out somewhere in Clapham. We'll then have a meal after badminton on Wednesday 18 December 2007. Everyone can play that night (and it's free!), and the club will contribute towards the meal. Hope everyone can make it!
We played our final home match in the H&D Men's 6 league and beat Ryefield 8-1. Very good start to this season, but the away matches will be tougher.
04 NOVEMBER 2007
Billy and Neil came back from Sofia with three medals between them. They said it wasn't the highest standard tournament, but that it was impeccably organised. Well done to them!
Also, all three teams in the leagues are doing well with the Men's County team and Men's 6 in the Hammersmith & District league sitting proudly at the top of the league - both teams are unbeaten so far this season. Check out the results and league tables in the League Results section.
15 OCTOBER 2007
First match in the Middlesex County league and we battled to a 6-3 win away to Finsbury, who were relegated from division 1 last season and are looking to go straight back up. A great start to the season and hopefully will push us towards promotion. Well done to the team: Kevin & Mark M, Alan & Kim, Mark S & Chris.
07 OCTOBER 2007
A very easy 9-0 win over Kodak on Sunday. Well done to all who played.
02 OCTOBER 2007
We won 8 medals in Hamburg - one less than in 2005 but a good haul nonetheless. We came 4th in the team cup, which was a little disappointing but a change in how they work it out means that we were always going to find it tougher.
2nd Hammersmith & District match is on Sunday and provisional team is: Mark M & Mark S, Billy & Grant and Neil & David. Let's hope we can continue the good start to the season.
15 SEPTEMBER 2007
First match of the season is on 23 September at home against a strong King Penguins team. Provisional team is: Mark M & Kim, Chris & Dominic and Mark S & Ed.
Also, less than two weeks until we fly to Hamburg and attempt to pick up a whole host of medals. Provisional doubles pairs are:
A Men's Doubles: Chris & Kim; Mark M & Ed; Alan & Dominic B+ Men's Doubles: David & Ian; Jet & Neil B- Men's Doubles: Brandon & Simon A Ladies' Doubles: Lynette & Rikke
